Qualifications Wales is the independent regulator of non-degree qualifications in Wales. It wanted to action some of the findings from its Building the Future review of qualifications in the construction and the built environment sector in Wales.
AEC
Airborne Environmental Consultants (AEC) is an environmental health and safety consultancy and training provider. To help 16 to 24-year-old apprentices and T Level students stay safe it wanted to launch an asbestos awareness course that young engineers and employers could trust.
Swiftool
Swiftool Precision Engineering is a global vendor of safety-critical parts to the nuclear, petrochemical, and aerospace markets. Being based in Mansfield, an area with low educational attainment, has made it difficult to source and maintain the talent it needs.
Essity
Essity is a leading manufacturer of one-use products, with six sites around the UK producing products such as tissue paper, nappies, and feminine care items. Based in rural Northumberland, the business struggled to attract recruits and was looking for a way to develop its own sustainable pipeline of skilled workers.
HETA
HETA is a leading engineering training provider in the Yorkshire and Humber region that looks to bridge the gap between industry and education for local engineers and employers. It places 200 people a year into highly skilled, well-paid engineering jobs with renowned companies, while providing commercial training to an additional 1,500 existing engineers.
