A skilled workforce is essential to achieve improvements in energy usage and efficiency in domestic, commercial and industrial premises. Developed in close consultation with Energy & Utility Skills - the Sector Skills Council - along with employers and industry bodies, our new offering for this sector will feature a range of qualifications in gas utilisation.

Covering all aspects of gas safety, the qualifications are tailored to support existing workers and new entrants to the sector. The suite also caters for staff in customer service, supervisory and management roles to improve their understanding of industry practices. With new qualifications launching during summer 2011, our portfolio will include:

core knowledge and skills
metering
installation and maintenance of a wide range of domestic systems and appliances
gas emergency service first call operatives

We offer a detailed range of support materials for these qualifications – including sample schemes of work, assessment guidance and presentation slides – to reduce the operational burden for delivery providers.

Successful learners will achieve qualifications that are recognised by key industry bodies, supporting learners who work with consumer gas appliances to apply to join the Gas Safe register.
