In the last 10 years, EAL has reinvested over £10million into the industries we serve through our Industry Support Programme.  This investment helps ensure that companies have the skills and qualifications needed for their future business success, and enables EAL to offer the most comprehensive programme of industry-relevant qualifications provided by any UK awarding organisation.

Did you know ...
that without EAL's investment, significant parts of the engineering workforce would be without vital qualifications that underpin the sector's competitiveness?  For example, NVQs in automotive engineering, marine engineering, metals processing and engineering leadership - as well as many specialist qualifications - would cease to exist without our support.  Likewise, the UK metals sector and the whole of Scotland's engineering industry would not have any relevant Apprenticeship programmes.

As a result of the Industry Support Programme:

  • EAL is able to offer the most comprehensive and relevant portfolio of qualifications to employers in the industries we serve
  • EAL develops and maintains qualifications and Apprenticeship frameworks that employers and industry need, including qualifications for niche areas
  • EAL works closely with employers, consulting on qualifications and refining existing qualifications in response to evolving needs
  • EAL contributes to sector activities to attract new entrants to the industries we serve.
